Job Description
Business Analyst will be responsible for performing day-to-day analysis, reporting and management of company data using analytical tools to ensure delivery of analytical projects, pricing and forecasting in order to meet wider business goals such as sales and margin improvement, routine and ad-hoc reporting, business intelligence dashboards.
Essential Job Duties:
- Perform business analysis and reporting on day-to-day basis
- Competitive intelligence gathering/market intelligence, benchmarking
- Execute plans based upon data (statistical analysis). Drive execution of those plans (e.g. Ability to formulate pricing and marketing strategy including product pricing, promotion, and positioning).
- Work with functional leadership and cross-functionally across the company to establish and maintain functional specific operating and business metrics.
- Understanding pricing, costing, Inventory management, Market Analysis, Sales and profitability to provide recommendation by doing analysis in order to meet financial goals
- Assumes other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Education Experience:
- Requires bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field.
- 4 to 7 years of relevant Industry experience (preferably in the Distribution, Manufacturing, or Retail industry)
Preferred Qualifications:
- MS SQL, Excel VBA, Access VBA experience highly preferred
- Experience with one or more statistical analysis tools preferred (Tableau, Minitab, SAS, and SPSS)
- Experience with Business Intelligence software packages preferred
- Interest in the US Automotive Industry (experience preferred)
- Experience in master data management and data quality
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Knowledge of overall business strategy and operations including business processes, revenue and cost components and drivers of these measures, profitability and return on investment modeling, and general business modeling.
- Project management skills – able to set work priorities in a logical order and handle multiple priorities in parallel.
- Experienced in one or both of Quality Management-Six Sigma preferred.
- Fully proficient and experienced in analysis, databases, and data mining.
- Fully proficient and experienced in the use of statistics, regression analysis, forecasting, etc.
- Analytical thinker and comfortable with large data sets 2MM+ merchandise SKUs.
- Strong strategic thinking skills to support analysis and lead to the recommendation of strategies and the execution of plans.
- Market segment and forecast analysis expertise and experience.
- Expert in MS Office tools, primarily MS Access and Excel.
- Work style that is very precise, detail, and accuracy-oriented is required in order for a candidate to be successful in the role.
- Ability to work in a geographically dispersed team environment.
