Position Summary

The position oversees, and is the primary point of contact for, campus course scheduling. The position administers the course scheduling calendar for the campus and provides a proactive approach to resolving course scheduling actions negatively affecting students’ registration and fee assessment. The position provides support to complete each course scheduling cycle for submission for USG Academic Collection. The position performs system configuration and coordinates among 250+ course schedulers on campus as well as with the centralized class scheduling office to streamline processes and ensure data integrity. The position serves as the liaison with department heads, Student Accounts, and Global Engagement for immediate resolution of course scheduling issues. The position operates independently with a great deal of autonomy.

Duties/Responsibilities

Duties/Responsibilities

Oversees the Campus Course Scheduling Process, including Course Scheduling Training and User Maintenance

  • Maintain course scheduling calendar
  • Accountable for the daily section cancellation process
  • Interpret written policies and procedures for course schedulers
  • Respond to, and send, emails from the course scheduler email account
  • Complete course section and student data maintenance and reconciliation
  • Serve as section mediator for cross-listed sections
  • Reconcile Study Abroad sections
  • Reduce registration errors that produce tuition and fee assessment issues
  • Perform miscellaneous data entry to sections for meeting reporting deadlines
  • Provide regularly scheduled trainings to new and existing users on how to effectively schedule classes

  • Collaborate with the classroom scheduling team to promote efficiencies and troubleshoot issues related to course scheduling
  • Contact units regarding UGA centralized classroom scheduling policy compliance
  • Maintain course and classroom production calendars

  • Serve as subject matter expert for course scheduling in the student information systems
  • Perform system configuration for course scheduling, waitlisting, registration emails, etc.
