Goodwill Southern California seeks an energetic Data Manager to the support the data needs of the Workforce and Career Development Department. This critical role leads in the collection of employee data, organization of datasets, summarizing outcome data and interpreting data to enhance our non-profit services. The Data Manager creates outcome evaluation reports for the Leadership Team, Board of Directors and key stakeholders. The Data Manager is also responsible for all aspects of database user and license management including new user setup/deactivation, roles, profiles, permission access, support tickets, training and designing solutions with user satisfaction as a priority.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Prepare reports for use by the leadership team such as annual reports, board reports, client reports, grant reports and committee reports.
Manage all non-profit department databases and systems and oversee the data input process, ensuring conformity to best practices. Maintain and improve data integrity and collect all necessary data with the ever-changing needs of the organization.
Work collaboratively with employment centers and programs throughout Goodwill s Southern California region to complete data projects for all departments.
Monitor project progress by tracking activity, resolving problems, publishing progress reports and recommend improvement actions
Identify, analyze and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
Perform daily, weekly and monthly reviews and analyses of current processes using operational metrics and reports.
Train employees on new reports and dashboards and maintain instructional manuals for primary databases.
Manage technology needs for the Workforce and Career Development department such as onboarding of new staff and Provide ongoing support and trainings for databases and systems
Assist employees with database issues and manage all user access and roles for databases and systems.
Act as HIPAA Security Officer and work with Privacy Officer to maintain HIPAA compliance and maintain user confidence.
Conduct insightful, ad hoc analyses to investigate ongoing or one-time operational issues.
This position requires some local travelling. Valid CA driver s license and state required insurance necessary. Driving record must be acceptable by company s insurance vendor
Education & Experience
Associates or Bachelors degree preferred.
Three years of professional experience in the nonprofit sector data management or analyst required.
Demonstrated experience in data collection, statistical analysis and data quality assessments.
Experience with relational database concepts and interpreting statistical outcomes.
Excellent problem-solving techniques, detail oriented and a multi-tasker.
Experience in data mining techniques.
Advanced knowledge of computer programs in a Windows environment, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
Excellent interpersonal verbal and written communication skills.
Background Check, Drug Screen, Employment Verification, MVR and Professional Reference Check required.
The annual base salary range for this position is $72,000. When extending an offer, the following will be considered, but not limited to the candidate s key skills, work experience and education, internal peer equity and other considerations permitted by federal, state and local laws.
