Design Intern
Kalaqtic is seeking a student intern to support the creative services team. The ideal candidate is a driven student who is eager to learn, able to work in a fast-paced environment, organized, a proactive problem solver, and takes pride in developing high-quality deliverables.
This internship is based in Los Angeles with flexibility in both working hours and location.
This role requires availability to work 10-15 hours (or more, depending on availability) per week.


Duration: Spring 2023 and/or Summer 2023
All Internships are non-paid and used for experience in the industry. School credit is optional. Intern to employee option is available after 3 months of internship with limited access to network/amenities and $20/hr +
What you will do.
-Assist designers in creation of samples and prototypes through sewing and hardware placement.


-Assist with the production process from start to finish.
-Manage fabric delivery and patterns to and from vendors.
-Prep social media posts and work with graphic designers to create content.
-Dress and style talent for photoshoots and assist during events.


What skills do you have.
Must have a Passion for fashion and a desire to gain experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
-Working towards degree in fashion design, and graphic design, or a related field.
-Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign) and Microsoft Office (Word and PowerPoint) preferred, but not necessary.


-Exceptional eye for quality and attention to detail.
-Ability to stay organized and demonstrates strong time management skills.
-Ability to multitask and juggle competing priorities.
-Ability to work in a high energy, fast paced, and rapidly changing environment.


-Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

-You must have your own reliable transportation.
-Knowledge of all aspects of garment construction, including proportions, measurements, and trim/fabric details. Knowing how to sew and knowledge of how to make patterns is a plus as well.
