About The Role
The Director of Nursing Services will be responsible for planning, directing and coordinating healthcare services of professional nursing, auxiliary nursing and all other healthcare (physical therapy, occupational therapy, etc.) to render appropriate resident care in accordance with applicable federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations.
Responsibilities:
Influences attitudes and practices by advocating for best practices.
Collaborates with the Ministry Center and Interdisciplinary Team to develop policy and procedures based on evidence-based practice and applicable regulations.
Oversees day-to-day activities of nursing department for appropriate implementation of policy and procedure and regulations of local, state, federal and accrediting bodies.
Reviews, investigates and resolves resident and family grievances in cooperation with the Healthcare Administrator.
Collaborates with the Healthcare Administrator, the Medical Director and other professional service providers

Requirements:
Bachelor s degree from a four-year college or university; or at least four years long term care or geriatric experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
At least 5 years of supervisory experience.
Experience in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to staff and organization operations.
Must be computer-adept in electronic health records and Microsoft Office Suite, as well as comfortable in learning other systems utilized by Lutheran Life Communities.
Demonstrated ability to manage budgets.
