Job Title: Drill Press Operator
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Drill Press Operator to join our team in the manufacturing of hydraulic cylinders. You will be working in a loud, industrial environment operating either the large or small drill press. Candidates must be comfortable working in a dirty and oily setting, and physical strength is required as the role involves lifting up to 50 lbs. No prior experience with micrometers or calipers is necessary as training will be provided, but a willingness to learn and patience are essential.
Responsibilities
Operate large or small drill press in the manufacturing of hydraulic cylinders.
Work in a loud and dirty environment while wearing provided coveralls.
Lift up to 50 lbs as required during operations.
Understand and apply basic math skills in the course of duties.
Take notes during training and ask questions to ensure understanding.
Follow safety protocols and maintain patience during the learning process.
Avoid using cell phones during work hours.
Essential Skills
Hands-on experience in mechanics, assembly, or machine operation.
Ability to read a tape measure.
Experience with hand and power tools.
Patience and attention to detail.
Willingness to learn and ask questions.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience with hydraulic systems.
Basic understanding of manual measuring tools.
Ability to work in an industrial environment.

Work Environment
You will work in a Seattle-based NFPA and custom cylinders shop, specializing in cylinders for marine, logging, and mining industries. The environment is a loud, dirty, and old machine shop with manual machines, including CNC and welding equipment. This role is suitable for those who are comfortable in an industrial setting and keen to learn.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Seattle, Washington.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 – $24.00/hr.
