Job Description:

Under general supervision, prepares and coats surface of parts, assemblies, and finished products with protective or decorative materials such as paint, epoxies, or enamel using a spray gun according to detailed specifications. Selects and mixes coating material; coats areas inaccessible to hand sprayer using a brush.

Essential Functions:

• Apply paints, epoxies, or finishes using a spray gun to achieve matches, shades and/or special finishes.
• Prepares surfaces by cleaning and masking over areas that are not to be coated.
• Maintains, regulates and operates drying ovens, and spray guns.
• Mixes and blends paint to achieve desired finish according to drawings or specifications.
• A high level of accuracy and an eye for detail is needed to make sure that the finish of the paint is of the highest standard.
• The ability to concentrate for extended periods of time while spraying and sanding by hand.
• Maintain records about the work in process and completed and keep accurate records of stock levels.
• Label, Marking and Packaging of painted products.
• Touch up of Painted products.

Qualifications:

• Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.
• Previous experience utilizing paint in a spray gun and sanding tools.
• Ability to work with small parts/components.
• Previous experience masking and touching up paint to a blueprint.
• Ability to inspect parts to paint and blueprint requirements.
• Previous experience marking/labeling product to a blueprint.
• A high level of accuracy and an eye for detail.
• Must have good coordination and dexterity to apply accurate and consistent layers of primer and paint.
