About the Job:
The Human Resources Specialist will primarily be responsible for the implementation of people-related services and policies. This individual will work along with the Sr. HR Manager on assisting and advising management in the area of Talent Management, including employee relations and issues impacting employee development, engagement and retention.
In this Role, You Will:
- Partner with business unit leaders to review policies and recommend new talent strategies based on business needs, along with the Sr. HR Manager.
- Work with the Division HR team, act as a general consultant to associates and managers to help them understand company policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with the Freight Forwarding HR team to plan and accomplish team and division goals.
- Responsible for the onboarding of all newly hired associates.
- Provide associates with information regarding employee benefits, under the direction of the Sr. HR Manager.
- Assist the corporate Benefits Team with Open Enrollment tasks and communications.
- Perform administrative tasks as they relate to the HRIS system, logging and documenting employee relations and benefit items.
- Complete duties related to ADA accommodations, leave of absences and Workers’ Compensation injuries in conjunction with the LOA & Benefits Coordinator.
- Complete job analysis, job evaluations, and job classification structures with Sr. Human Resources Manager to ensure labor standards and organizational goals are met.
- Create and update job descriptions as needed with managers and Talent Acquisition.
- Work with Sr. HR Manager to ensure proper management of grievances and implementation of disciplinary procedures are in line with internal processes and labor laws.
- Assist with employee evaluations investigations, complaints and administrative work associated with the events, as needed.
- Oversee the talent planning process in conjunction with the Sr. HR Manager, including performance appraisal management and salary administration within the HRIS system.
- Collaborate in the development and implementation of programs to maintain compliance with applicable laws and regulations and Company policies and procedures.
- Apply Human Resources knowledge to assist with the resolution of employee issues within established guidelines, policies, and procedures.
- Complete tasks within generally defined policies to effectively manage programs and processes.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and employment legislation to assist with company’s compliance across multiple states.
- Ability to travel as needed.

Required:
- A minimum of an associate degree is required.
- Minimum three (3) years relevant experience in a fast-paced work environment.
- Strong interpersonal relationship skills and experience interacting with all levels of associates.
- Proven knowledge of HR concepts, practices and procedures, and employment law and regulations.
- Demonstrated achievement and collaboration as a HR professional.
- Ability to apply experience and judgment when making recommendations.
- Ability to create, analyze, report, and manipulate data as it relates to HR metrics, using Microsoft Excel.
- First-rate communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to communicate with all levels of staff.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong ability to handle multiple projects and priorities effectively without sacrificing quality.
- Proven ability to work as an effective team member.
Desired:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline, a plus.
- Experience in the Third-Party Logistics/Freight Forwarding/Trucking industry a strong plus.
- Experience with Dayforce HRIS, a plus.
- Experience with handling the HR function across multiple geographic locations a strong plus.
Location:
This is an in-office role based in Fullerton, CA.
The pay for this role is: $70,000 to $75,000per year.
