Program Overview
LPL Financial is looking for college students who will have completed their sophomore or junior year. Our competitive 10 week paid summer internship is an unparalleled opportunity to develop as a leader while sharpening your skills. The aim of our internship program is to provide students a valuable workplace experience to enhance their educational and professional goals. The projects that you drive during the summer will be tailored to your interests and will strategically affect change at our company. You will also have the chance to develop a deeper understanding of our culture and core values though career workshops, senior executive interactions, and community involvement opportunities.
Opportunities exist within the following business units:
- Investor and Investment Solutions enables, optimizes, and supports LPL’s client retention, same store sales, and new business development teams to help multiply their results. Responsibilities include corporate strategy, research, marketing, product and platform management, and sponsor relations.
- Advisor Solutions provides support to advisors and institutions to drive growth, profitability, and scale in their practices while evolving their practices to increase their value to clients.
- Compliance, Legal, & Risk drives quality risk management and effective advocacy, leading to a reduced risk profile, improved regulatory standing, and reputation as a key industry and legislative influencer.
- National Sales & Marketing provides support to advisors and institutions to drive growth, profitability, and scale in their practices while evolving their practices to increase their value to clients.
What can you expect as an intern?
- Obtain a hands-on understanding of how a medium-sized publicly traded company operates.
- Obtain exposure to systems, databases, and other applications used by the Company on a daily basis.
- Participate in process walkthroughs in accordance with department and professional standards.
- Work in a fast-paced environment with opportunities to interact not only with the team’s management but also with other business units’ management.
- Practice project management through handling various assignments and projects.
- Expand knowledge through training and other online courses.
- Interact with other company leaders to develop an understanding of career options and opportunities at LPL Financial.
- Participate in department events and meetings throughout the internship program.
What is the summer internship schedule?
- Full- time remote program for 10 weeks in the summer
- Monday through Friday during day-shift for 40 hours a week
- Semester student dates: 5/30/23 – 8/4/23
- Quarter student dates: 6/19/23 – 8/25/23

Hourly Rate:
The hourly amount is dependent on a number of factors, including the applicant’s skill, experience, and work location.
