Logistics Operations Manager Contract Engineer Hourly Intern Logistics Regular

Meta is looking for a Logistics Operations Manager supporting NORAM and LATAM Logistics. The candidate will build partnerships with various internal business partners, support scaling the organization, manage escalations, roll out tooling, coordinate execution activities, and ensure logistical efficiency in a fast-paced and growing business area. This position is for a professional who can mentor and grow processes, operate complex programs, maintain engagement with multiple stakeholders, and envision the future systems and processes to support growing customer needs. Lastly, the role has high visibility and will be responsible for driving execution and interfacing with leadership.

Logistics Operations Manager Responsibilities

1. Engage with internal customers and gain understanding of their current and future needs. Shape the customer-facing strategy of the team and roadmap internal activities in support of the vision.
2. Internal Transportation Operations: Manage and coordinate the movement of goods, supplies, and equipment within the organization’s facilities. Develop and implement efficient transportation routes and schedules to ensure timely delivery.
3. Rate Management and Benchmarking: Negotiate competitive rates with carriers and transportation providers to ensure cost-effective solutions. Conduct regular benchmarking analysis to compare rates and services with industry peers and competitors. Identify opportunities for rate reductions and implement strategies to achieve them.
4. Carrier Sourcing and Performance Management: Develop and maintain relationships with carriers and transportation providers to ensure high-quality service and compliance with organizational standards. Conduct regular carrier performance reviews to evaluate service quality, on-time performance, and claims management. Develop and negotiate contracts with carriers to ensure competitive rates and terms.
5. Proven track record of success in Operations: Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure carrier performance, including on-time delivery, transit times, and various levels of cost reporting. Analyze data and metrics to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges, and develop strategies to address them.
6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align logistics operations with organizational goals and objectives.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Inventory Management, or Finance. Other technical education, experience, and degrees will be considered based on professional experience.
2. Proven track record of success in managing internal transportation operations and Third-Party Logistics warehouse providers.
3. Experience in logistics operations, including transportation management, warehousing, and inventory control.
4. Extensive experience with transportation management systems (TMS) and warehouse management systems (WMS).
5. Demonstrated experience leveraging data models to drive business decisions.
6. 5+ years experience in a matrixed organization. Experience in identifying, managing, and solving complex problems.
7. 5+ years of experience in transportation management, warehousing management, material lifecycle management, supply chain management, inventory management, operations, manufacturing, or other work in the areas.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Operations, or MBA.
2. Experience in logistics operations in a global high growth environment.
3. Experience dealing with a high degree of ambiguity and driving clarity across teams.
