The Opportunity
Our location in Irving, TX, currently has an opportunity for Material Handler. Working under general supervision, this role is actively involved in material movements in a warehouse environment. Duties may include loading trailers, unloading trailers, processing receiving and put away, cycle counting, de-crating, picking KTE carts, and may use material handling equipment such as forklifts and stretch wrappers.
What You’ll Work On
- Understands material movement/inventory levels and completes timely processing of assigned tasks.
- Performs material movements both physically and systematically conducted within a controlled environment where ESD controls may exist.
- Processes stock transfers, material requests and put-away. Loads and/or unloads trucks as required.
- May operate material handling equipment such as forklifts or other equipment with appropriate training and/or certification.
- May assist and train associates with on the job training.
- Understands and uses the ERP system for material management activity. Utilizes root cause analysis to research material movement and resolve discrepancies.
- Performs cycle counting
- Participates in continuous improvement initiatives which include warehouse material flow systems and procedures
- Seeks efficiency in system and process gaps and elevates awareness to management
- Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration. Promotes a positive work environment.
- Participate in on-the-job training for warehouse and manufacturing processes, corporate policies, safety procedures, GMP, ISO Standards as defined by supervisor.
- Adheres to all environmental, health and safety SOP’s, equipment, policies and procedures, including any department specific requirements. Serves on safety, quality and other committees, if applicable.
- Complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes and task assignments.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- 2 years’ experience of material handling or prior warehouse experience preferred
- Forklift certification preferred
Preferred Qualifications
- Seeks efficiency in systems/processes. Manages own time under general supervision.
- Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.
- Knowledgeable in Microsoft office tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Oracle experience preferred
- Multitasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner.
- Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, reach within hands and arm’s length, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
- Must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time
- Ability to handle and lift up to 25lbs as needed for specific job functions
- Able to work independently and collaboratively in a team
- Needs to work well under pressure while maintaining a professional demeanor
