Painter Full Time

Essential Functions:

• Under close supervision, completes washing, sanding, priming, painting, detailing and minor re-assembly on sub-assembly and/or finished products in accordance with written and verbal instructions. (Industrial Cranes and Crane sub-assemblies)
• Under close supervision performs after paint inspection activities.
• In accordance with company procedures, prepares units for next operation.
• Complies with all safety and hazardous material procedures.
• Required to initiate engineering change requests to improve quality, reduce cycle times, and /or to correct nonconformities.
• Complies with Quality Management System requirements in accordance with ISO9001 if applicable.
• Maintains all aspects of workplace organization.
• Maintain ongoing communication and adhere to all company policies to eliminate and/or reduce exposure to liability.
• Special projects or work assigned by manager.
• Ensure compliance in all safety, health, and environmental regulations, policies, and procedures for a goal of zero incidents and injuries.

Competencies:

• Ability to understand written and verbal instructions and work rules/ procedures.
• Knowledge and understanding of applicable operating procedures and material flow.
• Basic math knowledge (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of fractions).
• Ability to operate a forklift if required.

Qualifications Guidelines
Experience/Training/Education:

• Required: High school graduate or equivalent
• Desired: 2-year vocational technology certificate with 2+ years of experience performing painting and detail work in automotive or related field.

Work Environment:

• This is a production classification and employees work in a factory or warehouse environment with exposure to noise and machinery. The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/ cold, wet/humid, and dry/ arid conditions. Frequently required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to hazardous materials. May be requested to work overtime and weekends.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on occasion and wear required PPE relevant to task being performed.
