SUMMARY
Training to oversee heat treatment of open and closed die forgings, in house conversions of ingots, billets, and rolled rings.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Training to understand controlling and monitoring all heat treat furnaces as well as their limits and capabilities.
With constant supervision performs the following:
Prepares furnace loads, dependent upon material type and quantity allowable in furnace.
Verifies piece count and straightness and flatness of parts before and after material is heat treated.
Performs cold and hot straightening if necessary.
Conducts hardness inspection of material.
Oversees furnace light up and monitoring.
SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
