What is an SAP Solution Architect?
The SAP Solution Architect is responsible for solutioning and coordinating large and complex initiatives. This person will be responsible for understanding end-to-end business processes, how they are currently designed within SAP, and creating comprehensive and maintainable solution design. The SAP Solution Architect is a hands-on task & project execution position with supervisory responsibilities. The incumbent will coach and mentor analysts in their career development.
What does an SAP Solution Architect do?
Supervises, coaches, and mentors a team of SAP Analysts and SAP contract resources
Designs end-to-end SAP S/4 HANA solutions for new large and complex initiatives
Reviews incoming projects and issues to identify feasibility and dependencies
Leads evaluation, design, and analysis for the implementation of SAP solutions
Creates architectural designs to guide solution development
Coordinates cross-functional projects
Collaborates with business users and other SAP technical staff to design solutions
Engages with business experts to plan highly complex and critical initiatives
Stays current with SAP technologies and solutions, specifically in the utility space
Supports all phases of the System Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including analysis, design, development, testing, and implementation
Provides storm/emergency response support.
What does it take to be an SAP Solution Architect?
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration or related field of study and 3+ years’ experience as an SAP Solution Architect or related or an associate’s degree in the aforementioned fields of study with 5+ years’ experience as an SAP Solution Architect or related. In lieu of a degree, a high school diploma or equivalent and 6+ years’ experience as an SAP Solution Architect or related will be considered
3+ years of experience creating solutions in either the technical or functional space within the SAP S/4 HANA or SAP ECC platform
Must have led at least one large-scale SAP project or implementation
Hands-on experience in configuration or development within the S/4 HANA or ECC environment
Must demonstrate the willingness to work in a collaborative team environment to deliver a quality product and interact effectively with individuals at all levels
Ability to be flexible and adaptable in the face of changing organizational technology, processes, and priorities
Demonstrated strong problem solving, analytical skills and strategic thinking ability
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Valid driver’s license
Preferred:
Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Information Technology or STEM field; Master’s degree
Hands-on experience implementing multiple transformational S/4 HANA projects
Experience with the IS-U module

Pay Range: $124,600 – $193,200
