About the Role:
AngelList is seeking Senior Software Engineers to join one of our core engineering teams. At AngelList, we pride ourselves on having an outsized impact on the industry. The private markets now exceed $13T in AUM as more high-growth companies stay private longer. We are looking for a founding engineer on our new Capital Products Team. This team is building new products to streamline every part of the investing lifecycle—from discovery and diligence to transaction flows and reporting. You’ll be at the forefront of creating robust backend services and intuitive user interfaces, seamlessly integrating with AngelList’s broader ecosystem, regulatory obligations, and our best-in-class KYC-to-transaction workflows.
We’re looking for an engineer who thrives on complexity—collaborating across product, design, operations, and compliance teams to deliver a frictionless user experience. If you’re excited about shaping how individuals and institutions invest in the private markets, this role is for you.

You will have the opportunity to:

- Learn the venture financing business inside and out – from the ground up
- Have more ownership and responsibility for shipping large features and improving our codebase

You most likely:
- Have 4+ years of experience building large-scale web applications
- Are a full-stack generalist or backend specialist with working knowledge across the stack
- Comfortable writing clean, scalable code in one of our main languages, or excited to dive into our stack and pick it up quickly.
- Thrive in complex, fast-moving environments where you help shape product direction
- Are a self-starter who’s built something meaningful from scratch–a startup, side project, open-source tool
- Are deeply curious about venture capital, financial infrastructure and empowering builders (https://venturehacks.com/save-the-world)
How success will be measured in this role:
- Consistently delivers high-quality, well-tested code that meets the team’s goals and timelines.
- Actively contributes to team discussions and decisions, bringing thoughtful technical perspectives.
- Helps deliver a zero-to-one product, balancing urgency and time-to-market with core engineering principles

AngelList has offices in two hub cities: AngelList has offices in a few cities, and our engineering hub in San Francisco. We’re focused on hiring from this hub office so engineers and product teams can collaborate in the office at least twice per week (Tuesdays and choice between Wednesday or Thursday). From time to time, we will make exceptions for new hires if they need to be in another office or fully remote.
Compensation: The compensation for this role consists of a competitive base salary, benefits, and equity package. The base salary for this role is $200,000+ annually but actual will vary based on a number of factors including a candidate’s professional background, experience, and location. Additional details about our Total Rewards package will be provided during the recruitment process.
