The best women’s hospital in Los Angeles is looking for current RN candidates to staff Operating Room, Emergency Department, Labor & Delivery and Mother-Baby care units to be housed in our expanding new patient tower facility scheduled to open next year. Acts as first point of contact for patients and assists patients through registration process under minimal direct supervision. Practices proper cash handling and reconciliation processes in accordance with established policies and guidelines.
Patient needs should be the primary focus of one’s actions; develops and sustains productive patient relationships. Actively seeks information to understand patient circumstances, problems, expectations, and needs. Establishes and builds rapport and cooperative relationships with the public/patients/ staff. Responds quickly to meet patient needs and resolve problems using good judgment.

Position Summary:
The primary job duties this position is responsible for achieving are listed in order of importance.
+ Upholds Hollywood Presbyterian’s Policies and Procedures, Code of Conduct and applicable state, federal and local laws.
+ Customer Service (Greeting, navigating, instructing, educating).
+ Greets patients and provides reception services, to include directing and assisting patients in navigating through the medical center. Provides wayfinding to appropriate care locations/departments as availability allows.
+ Provides reception for designated area(s); verifies patient’s visit with pre- established appointment scheduling; registers patients; verifies and selects appropriate insurance coverage including confirmation of alternate insurance.
+ Demonstrates flexibility when addressing various patient issues and needs.
+ Follows Hollywood Presbyterian’s Service Standards.
General Job Functions:
+ Schedules patients appointments and follow-ups, by telephone, mail, electronically or in person utilizing Hollywood Presbyterian’s computer systems as directed by provider or pre-established protocol.
+ Ensures current schedules are accurate, makes authorized changes as appropriate.
+ Verifies patient’s benefits, notifies patient of applicable cost share and updates patients’ demographics information to include all patient registration and billing Escalate any issues as appropriate.
+ Directs patients to waiting Obtains relevant information to determine priority appointment time/date, confirmations. Facilitates appointment changes due to cancellations and notifies patients of available alternate times, schedules/registers for follow up appointments, tests and procedures.
+ Answers calls and relays messages to staff.
+ Distributes questionnaires and various medical/authorization/insurance forms.
+ May be required to travel to satelite locations, as needed.
Minimum Education:
+ High School Diploma or GED required.
Preferred Education:
+ Associate Degree
Minimum Work Experience and Qualifications:
+ 1 year of customer service in a hospital or ambulatory setting.
Preferred Work Experience and Qualifications:
+ Experience in a medical office background, cashiering and or equivalent experience and medical terminology.
+ Ability to work multi task and prioritize.
+ Supervisory experiernce preferred.
+ 3 – 5 years experience in the clinical area of specialty preferred.
