Shipper/Packer Lead contract

Action Staffing Solutions is seeking a Shipper/Packer Lead for one of our esteemed Government clients. The position involves providing on-site services from Monday to Friday, excluding recognized US holidays or facility closures due to emergencies, administrative closings, or Government-directed facility/installation closings.

There Are Two Shifts Available

1st shift: 6:30AM through 3:00PM

2nd shift: 3:30PM through 12:00 AM

The Duties Of This Position Include

• Supervising the day-to-day administration of the assigned operational area (production floor) and coordinating activities with other production areas.
• Orienting new contract shipper/packers.
• Ensuring that correct packing procedures are followed and assisting with correcting parcels that have been packed incorrectly.
• Assisting the Facility Administrator (FA) as needed.

Applicants for this role must have the following qualifications and experience:

• A high school diploma or GED.
• 1 year of supervisory experience.
• 1 year of shipping and packaging experience.
• Effective interpersonal communication skills with coworkers and staff.
• Basic typing skills, PC computer skills, and a working knowledge of MS Office.
• Fluency in English (reading, understanding, speaking, and writing).
• The ability to lift to 50 pounds when required.
• The ability to push or pull up to 150 pounds on a rolling cart or using a pallet jack.
• The ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time (8-10 hours) and lift repetitively.
• An understanding of the necessary precautions when handling hazardous medications, materials, and hazardous waste.
• The ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
