The Corporate Strategy Team leads the strategic ideation, implementation, and execution support for our business and culture transformation in order to meet our strategic priorities and to create sustainable competitive advantage over the long-term. The Corporate Strategy team partners directly with the CEO, Executive Committee (EC) members, and Business/Functional leaders to help solve the most important questions and challenges facing AssetMark.

The team focuses on developing firm-level strategy, establishing targets/KPIs, prioritization of strategic initiatives, market testing and adoption. This is a full-time position in our Concord, CA, Phoenix, AZ, Encino, CA, or Chicago, IL office with a hybrid work schedule. VP, Strategic AdvisoryAssetMark is seeking a highly skilled individual to serve as the VP, Strategic Advisory to both develop then implement an internal strategic advisory and consulting capability at-the-ready to support EC members and Business/Functional leaders on developing strategies in support of the Corporate Strategy. The individual in this role will report directly to the Head of Corporate Strategy and build an internal consulting group capability.

This part of Corporate Strategy (CS) will develop and advise on the most important strategic initiatives for AMK and the Firm’s EC. In the near term, the focus will be to build this internal consulting capability while supporting EC member’s/Functional Leader’s strategy development to ensure Enterprise – Business – Functional strategies align. In the longer term, the team is available to support and advise on the firm level strategic initiatives: growth strategies, new business incubation/launch, market entries, and/or strategic investments. Responsibilities:* Develop and advise on Business/Functional strategies in support of strategic objectives and initiatives* Serve as a trusted thought partner to senior leaders* Build and lead teams of 1-3 junior associates/consultants to develop solutions in partnership with firm leaders* Create and deliver C-level executive communications – both written and verbal* Provide coaching to both directs and cross-functional team members* Oversee analysis (e.

g. , modeling, valuation) to provide insights in support of strategy developmentKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:* Ability to structure, scope, and problem-solve on complex strategic issues and apply a range of tools and frameworks to arrive at fact-based solutions* Strong communication, presentation, and influencing skills* Ability to collaborate and build relationships with colleagues and clients at all levels to achieve goals without direct oversight/reporting of resources* Significant level of personal initiative and resourcefulness – to set and achieve challenging goals and navigate through entrepreneurial initiatives and the changes required to grow our firm* Intellectual curiosity and ability to develop subject matter expertise quickly on new topics* Demonstrates courage to act as a disruptor, challenge, and push thinking toward better outcomes* Past success at recruiting, hiring, and developing talent to be a part of high-performing teamEducation & Experience:* Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree/MBA preferred* Minimum of 10+ years of relevant experience with top-tier External Management consulting firm or equivalent internal consulting/corporate strategy experienceCompensation: The Base Salary range for this position is between $220,000 – $275,000. This information reflects a base salary range that AssetMark reasonably expects to pay for the position based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and actual work location. This position will also be eligible for additional variable incentive compensation and competitive benefits.
