SUMMARY
New Mexico State University is looking for a Chief of Staff to support our organization. This position reports directly to the President and serves as a trusted advisor, respected university representative, and effective leader; and requires someone with a deep understanding of the higher education landscape in the state of New Mexico.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Master’s degree in Business or related technical field. Fifteen (15) years of increasingly progressive management experience in one or more areas that report to this position, or ten (10) years as a senior executive in business or a research management environment. Equivalency: Any equivalent combination of experience and education.
CLASSIFICATION SUMMARY
Serves as a member of the President’s senior staff providing confidential executive-level support to the President.
Serves as a chief aide to the President and, as such, serves at the will of the President. Responsible for a broad and complex set of assignments related to the duties of the President of the University System. Responsible for the oversight of all operational, administrative, and financial matters specific to the management of that office.
