Job Summary

Reporting to the Director of Talent Acquisition, the Coordinator – Talent Acquisition is primarily responsible for the development and implementation of recruitment strategies to attract diverse talent for staff and faculty positions. This individual contributor position is also responsible for providing full recruiting support to supervisors with faculty and staff positions to include, posting positions, screening candidates, coordinating interviews, and planning job fairs and other recruitment activities.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Performance Requirements*

  • Develops, implements, and coordinates recruitment plans for faculty and staff positions
  • Serves as a consultant to hiring supervisors in filling positions
  • Coordinates recruitment activities with hiring supervisor and TA team partners
  • Provides resources and tools for managing an effective search
  • Manages and hires for frequently requested positions
  • Coordinates and hosts regular recruitment and hiring events
  • Conducts special searches using social media, recruitment websites, and job boards to fill hard-to-fill positions
  • Facilitates training and serves as a resource for best practices and procedures related to hiring, interviewing, screening, candidate management, selection, and onboarding
  • Partners with other members of the HR team to create and update job descriptions
  • Collects and analyzes data and perform on-going evaluations to determine the effectiveness of recruitment
  • Ensures departmental compliance with Human Resource policies, regulations, procedures, and practices
  • Provides technical support to hiring supervisors
  • Serves on search committees

Service Excellence

  • Participates on behalf of the College in external community organizations and associations as assigned to support the essential performance requirements
  • Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually, and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite
  • Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College
  • Supports the values of the College: diversity, teaching excellence, student success, innovation, and creativity and service to the College
  • Supports the mission, values and 3 goals and 8 principles of the College

Supervision

Works under the general supervision of Director of Talent Acquisition

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree and three (3) years’ working experience in HR employment/recruitment; or an equivalent combination of experience and education

Preferred Qualifications

  • Current Human Resources certification (e.g. PHR , SHPR , SHRM -CP, SHRM – SCP )
  • Experience working in higher education, especially at Tarrant County College

  • Ability to work with a strong detail orientation and multi-task with little direct supervision
  • Ability to analyze data and provide sound recommendations based on policy, procedure, practice, and existing regulations
  • Ability to manage projects from start through implementation
  • Ability to focus on customer service and collaboration in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to grasp concepts and procedures quickly
  • Ability to work under pressure with multiple interruptions and meet deadlines
  • Ability to use computer applications and enterprise systems, including proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software
