Job Summary:
Westat has a new opportunity for an Internal Controls Analyst, reporting to the Internal Controls Manager. This role will be integral to our success with audit engagements, working closely with internal and external stakeholders. The individual in this role will help to shape improvements around audit engagement effectiveness and efficiency by liaising with external audit agencies and internal process owners, identifying and implementing best practices, standardizing audit support material, promoting and monitoring adherence to quality standards.
This is a remote position within the US with core hours of 10am-3pm EST.
Job Responsibilities:

Liaison with internal and external stakeholders on external audit engagements

Provides process owners with training, coaching, advice and feedback on best practices with external audit support.

Validate external audit support
-
Assist in the development, analysis, and internal reporting of performance metrics for audit engagements

Support special initiatives designed to streamline external audit engagements
Basic Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance
-
Experience with public speaking and client-facing interactions
-
5-8 Years of accounting, auditing and/or compliance experience working in a mid-to-large size organization
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) experience and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) experience

Project Management experience
