We’re seeking a proactive and experienced Procurement Specialist/Buyer to oversee purchasing for our small but fast-paced and high-energy team. Reporting to the VP of Operations, this role requires a quick-thinking, hands-on professional adept at managing inventory levels, vendor relations, and the purchasing cycle for over 600 parts across 50-75 vendors. The Buyer will work on-site to ensure inventory accuracy, negotiate effectively, and perform cycle counts regularly.
Key Responsibilities
- Purchasing and Vendor Management: Maintain and manage relationships with 50-75 vendors, sourcing and purchasing 600+ parts with a focus on speed and cost-effectiveness.
- Inventory Oversight: Conduct regular plant walks, monitor stock levels, and track usage to minimize waste and ensure accuracy. Perform monthly cycle counts, potentially including occasional Saturday checks (with compensatory time off).
- Cross-Functional Support: Collaborate closely with the finance team, providing insights and data to assist with financial planning and inventory assessments.
- System Utilization: Work within ERP system ODOO to track and manage purchases and inventory data.
- Negotiation and Communication: Communicate with team members on the floor, ensuring smooth operations and adherence to inventory goals, waste reduction, and purchasing requirements.

This role is highly dynamic and requires adaptability, quick thinking, and comfort with a fast-paced, high-energy environment. Working within a lean team, the Procurement Specialist/Buyer must be a confident negotiator, problem-solver, and clear communicator.
Qualifications
- Required:
- 3-5+ years of buying experience, ideally within manufacturing.
- Strong communication skills, with an ability to engage directly with floor personnel and drive results.
- Experience with ERP systems (ODOO experience is a plus).
- Proven ability to negotiate effectively in a high-stakes, high-energy environment.
Preferred:
- Experience working in a warehouse setting and forklift certification.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
