BOOKKEEPER contract

Clayton Services is searching for a Bookkeeper to join a thriving company in North Houston.

Job Type: Direct Hire

Pay Rate: $75,000-$85,000/year

Bookkeeper Responsibilities:

• Maintain QuickBooks records for all entities, including routine reviews of general ledger activity, monthly reconciliations, and closing entries.
• Oversee daily cash account balances, predict upcoming expenses, and recommend necessary cash transfers or distributions.
• Track and process all submitted and approved vendor invoices, monitor their status, and follow up as needed.
• Assist in preparing year-end financial statements and trial balances for tax reporting.
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and internal records with external statements.
• Calculate and process payroll for employees and contractors, including payroll taxes.
• Maintain a debt schedule and ensure it aligns with monthly statements and records.
• Manage depreciation ledgers for personal assets.
• Prepare and file annual Forms 1099 and maintain W-9s for contractors and vendors.
• Review, allocate, and approve expense reports submitted in Concur.
• Office administration duties, including:
  
  • Order supplies, reserve conference rooms, organize the filing system, and manage mail distribution.
  • Cover for the executive assistant during lunch breaks and absences.
  • Monitor and answer phone calls for the company owner.
  • Provide assistance to the executive assistant as required.
  • Reconcile flight logs.
  • Help with the distribution of corporate sporting tickets.
  • Code FedEx billings for corporate accounts.

Bookkeeper Education and Experience:

• A bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required.
• 5+ years of bookkeeping experience is required.
