Avoid: Software Engineering Focus: Heavy on general programming (e.g., Java) without clear ETL or data testing experience.
Application or UI Testing: Experience focused on frontend, mobile, or user interface testing. Generic Test Automation: Primarily QA automation using tools and languages not tailored to data pipelines. No GCP Data Tool Experience: Lack of specific experience with GCP data services (BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc). Non-Data-Centric Roles: Background in roles that don’t emphasize data validation, data transformation, or ETL tools.
