Quality Inspector
2nd shift/Hours – 3:45pm – 12:15am – some OT as needed.
Peoplelink Staffing Solutions in partnership with a prominent client in Elgin within the manufacturing industry.
We are looking for a friendly passionate person to join a great team as a Inspector. A charismatic person who loves to be detail orientated organized, punctual, and working in an industrial environment.
Payrate is $18/H – $20/H based on experience
Must be flexible with hours – Bilingual a plus
1. Qualification Requirements: Must understand engineering prints/specifications, use measurement devices, and have a basic knowledge of quality assurance principles.
Must possess basic math, writing, and reading skills. High School graduate and inspection experience preferred.

Reports to: Assistant Quality Manager
3. Authority: Authority to quarantine product pending disposition by Assistant Quality Manager.
4. Special Circumstances of the Job: Individuals that have basic math, writing and reading skills, and are able to demonstrate these skills during the interview process with the Quality Manager, may be selected for inspection training.
5. Job Duties, Functions, Responsibilities: Conducts start-up inspection, in-process inspection, and final audit approvals based on engineering drawings, instructions, and company specifications.
Maintains required quality records (Inspection Reports, nonconforming material documents etc.). Performs capability studies. Maintains statistical control charts. Assists in the facilitation of corrective actions.
Isolates suspect materials, and attaches the appropriate identifying tag or document. Conducts shift change meetings, to address quality and production issues.
6. Other Responsibilities: Verifies lot numbers on applicable carton labels.
7. Quality Responsibilities: Assists and trains all hourly personnel in dimensional measurement and visual criteria.
Assists operators with implementation of statistical control charts. Must be involved in quality activities and participate on quality improvement teams.
Completes all quality training required by the company. Submits quality improvement ideas. Inspects the product at their assigned workstation and informs the shift supervisor of any nonconformances observed.
Separates and quarantines the non-conforming product from new production. Must be aware of and follow all safety procedures. Assures that nonconforming materials are properly identified and isolated.
8. Results Expected: Completion of all job assignments (approvals, capability studies etc.) and quality records in a timely fashion.
