Role description:
As a Field Inspector, your primary focus will be inspecting the construction of track. The projects include rehabilitation or replacement of; track drainage systems, special track work and traction power third rail system.
Role accountabilities:
- Conduct field inspections of civil and track construction activities in accordance with project plans, specifications, and applicable codes.
- Verify that the construction work is being executed as per the contract documents and meets the quality standards.
- Identify and report any deviations or non-compliance with the contract documents to the appropriate stakeholders, such as the Resident Engineer or Project Manager.
- Ensure that required material inspections and tests are performed and documented accurately.
- Prepare detailed daily reports summarizing the construction activities observed, including progress, issues, and compliance.
- Collaborate with the Quality Manager to verify that the constructed work meets the specified quality requirements.
- Assist in conducting punch list inspections upon completion of the work.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred, but not required.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience as a Field Inspector on Transit and Transportation projects, specifically involving civil and track infrastructure.
- Familiarity with transit and transportation industry standards and regulations.
- Strong knowledge of civil and track construction methods, materials, and techniques.
- Experience in inspecting and monitoring the construction of track drainage systems, special track work, and traction power third rail systems is highly desirable.

We offer nine paid holidays and 20 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $125,000- $145,000. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
