Pico Propane and Fuels is seeking a CDL Transport Driver to support our team in Kenedy, Tx. The Refined Fuels Transport Driver is responsible for loading, transporting and delivering refined fuels using a tanker truck (11,400-gallon capacity). Our Transport Drivers are committed to Service, Efficiency and Safety. This position requires a Class A CDL license with hazmat and tanker endorsements.
Location: This position will be dispatched from the TCI Transportation Yard in Converse, Tx, and will report to our Bulk Plant in Kenedy, Tx.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Comply with all city, state, and federal regulations
Loads, secures, transports, delivers and unloads product
Performs pre- and post-trip inspections on equipment used for the transportation of hazardous materials
Plans and accomplishes operational assignments that are varied and moderately complex to complex
Gauges tank volumes and tests product quality and specifications of bulk petroleum products while transporting from a variety of locations using a class eight tractor and a tanker trailer
Maintains the operational efficiency of vehicles by monitoring truck maintenance needs, conducting minor repairs and conducting daily DOT truck inspections to ensure maximum vehicle safety
Maintains and completes accurate records by documenting truck inspections, hours of service, product transported, and miles driven
Ensures that delivery vehicle receives service according to maintenance schedule; reports larger service needs and mechanical issues to supervisor
Performs other related duties as assigned

Skills/Abilities:
Ability to effectively and efficiently use navigation tools such as GPS, smartphone apps, and/or web-based or physical maps
Ability to maintain accurate logs and records
Ability to carry out a series of instructions with limited supervision
Knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent
Class A CDL license with tanker and hazmat endorsements required
Must meet all DOT requirements
Ability to obtain Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC)
No more than 1 moving violation in the previous 2 years
3+ years tractor and trailer experience in propane and/or fuel distribution (preferred)
1+ years tanker experience within the last 5 years
Physical, Mental, and Behavioral Requirements:

Position requires the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to heavy weights of 10 to 80 lbs. for approximately 90% of the work shift
Ability to regularly climb in and out of a commercial motor vehicle, multiple times per work shift
Good hand eye coordination, arm hand and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp and visual acuity to operate equipment is required, including at night
Frequent sitting, reaching with hands and arms
Must be able to speak and hear
Position is subject to pre-hire DOT medical certification requirements and drug and/or alcohol testing, as well as a physical abilities test performed by a company provider
Must pass the pre-employment screening
Position may require working evening hours and weekends as needed
Work is normally performed outside where exposure to conditions of extreme heat/cold, fumes, airborne particles and gases is common
