Overview: We are seeking a skilled Industrial Panel Builder to join our dynamic team. As an Industrial Panel Builder, you will be responsible for assembling, wiring, and testing electrical control panels used in industrial automation systems.
You will work closely with engineers and project managers to ensure that panels are built to meet project specifications and industry standards.
The ideal candidate will have experience in panel building, electrical wiring, and troubleshooting, with a strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
Responsibilities:
Panel Assembly: Build electrical control panels according to engineering drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams. Select and mount components such as circuit breakers, relays, switches, and terminal blocks onto panel backplates or enclosures.
Wiring and Termination: Perform wiring and termination of electrical components using proper techniques and tools. Route and dress wires neatly to ensure proper fit and function.
Verify wiring accuracy and continuity.
Testing and Troubleshooting: Conduct functional testing of assembled panels to ensure proper operation and compliance with specifications. Troubleshoot and resolve any wiring or component issues as needed.
Quality Assurance: Inspect finished panels for quality and adherence to standards. Ensure that all work meets company and industry safety regulations.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of panel builds, including parts lists, wiring diagrams, and test reports. Update documentation as necessary to reflect any changes or modifications.
Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, project managers, and other team members to coordinate panel builds and resolve technical issues.
Provide input on design improvements and process optimizations.
Requirements:
Technical Skills: Proficiency in electrical panel assembly, wiring, and troubleshooting. Familiarity with electrical components and their functions. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
Experience: Previous experience in industrial panel building or a related field preferred. Experience with PLCs, HMI devices, motor controls, and industrial sensors is a plus.
Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
Ability to follow instructions accurately and work with precision.
Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve electrical issues efficiently. Experience with troubleshooting electrical circuits and systems is desirable.
Teamwork: Ability to work effectively as part of a team, collaborating with colleagues to achieve project goals. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
Safety Consciousness: Knowledge of electrical safety practices and procedures. Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment for oneself and others.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
Additional technical training or certification in electrical assembly or related field is a plus.
